Lawyer for Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Andy Appiah Kubi, has explained why the Accra High Court issued a bench warrant for his client, Bernard Antwi Boasiako.
According to him, Wontumi, as he is popularly called, was at the premises of the court when the case was called.
However, they thought that the case would be called at 10 am, only for it to be called earlier and a bench warrant issued.
Andy Appiah indicated that he filed an application and made a case for his client before the bench warrant was rescinded by the High Court Judge.
The lawyer explained that Wontumi’s absence when the case was called was not deliberate but a mistake on their part as Lawyers because they were of the view that the case will be called at 10 am.
The case has since been adjourned to November 4, 2025, at 9 am.
