Widow of late Ejisu MP John Kumah remarries a year after his death

Apostle Lilian Kumah, widow of the late Ejisu Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr John Ampontuah Kumah, has remarried a year after the legislator’s death.

Confirmation of the development emerged through a thanksgiving message circulated on social media following her engagement ceremony.

The message, bearing a photograph of Apostle Kumah with her fiancé, Samuel Aryeequaye, expressed appreciation to family, friends, and well-wishers for their support and prayers, describing their presence at the event as deeply meaningful to the couple.

The engagement marks a new chapter for Apostle Kumah after the passing of her husband on March 7, 2024. Dr. Kumah, who was 45 at the time of his death, died after a short illness while en route to Accra for medical treatment

An autopsy later confirmed that his death resulted from natural causes, specifically complications from multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer, which led to heart failure, dismissing earlier public speculation about poisoning.

Dr. Kumah was serving as Deputy Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Ejisu at the time of his death and was regarded within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a rising political figure.
