You brought this humiliating defeat upon yourself- Franklin Cudjoe tells Bawumia

President of policy think tank IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe believes Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) brought the humiliating defeat upon themselves.
According to him, if as flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia had admitted the shortcomings of the government, even though the NPP would have lost, the defeat wouldn’t have been humiliating.
“Finally the the scales of self-denial have fallen off! I think it is appropriate to add that you brought this upon yourself. If you had admitted this basic fact as the Asantehene and I repeatedly advised you to do during the campaign, the voter beating would have been a bit humane.
Next time, please man up and speak up. That’s leadership, not coming to ‘confess’ after the glaring facts that caused so many a livelihood and death. I guess this ends the importance placed of the vaunted Mike Mike Gabo Oquaye report! What a waste of time”.
His comment come on back of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia listing what led to the NPP’s humiliating loss in the 2024 election.
While on the thank you tour in the western region, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia indicated that the NPP lost because the government wasn’t listening.
He mentioned the decision not to reshuffle ministers, introduction of e-levy, arrogance of power and DDEP as part of the reasons why the party lost in the 2024 elections.
