You don’t love me—Teen’s note to parents before leaving home in Efiakuma

A 16-year-old boy from Efiakuma in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis has gone missing after leaving a note behind accusing his parents of not loving him.

The incident occurred on Sunday while the family was at church. Upon their return, they found the boy missing and discovered the handwritten letter explaining his decision to leave.

Part of the note read: “Daddy, Mummy, I really love you and appreciate you for what you have done for me. But you all don’t love me.

“I cannot stay with you anymore… I have left home and I’m not lost so don’t look for me and I will never return. God will take care of me so I’m saying goodbye to you all.”

His mother, speaking on Connect FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show, expressed shock over the development.

“He was supposed to go with us to church but he refused. We went to church and came back to meet his absence.

“He left a note indicating we don’t love him, but we do love him so much. We are asking the public to help us look for him, we want him to return home,” she explained.

The case has been reported to the police, and the family is appealing to the public for assistance in locating the teenager.
