You need the man more

A Nigerian content creator identified as @AsakyGRN on X (formerly Twitter) has criticized a recent trend where some women reportedly purchase e-books priced around ₦10,000 teaching strategies on how to “be a man” and secure financial gain from male partners.

In a viral video, she expressed disbelief at what she considers an unnecessary and ironic effort to extract money from men:

“I’m just coming from TikTok and I saw women are buying ebook of 10,000 naira to learn how to be a man. Can we all agree that men are the prize?

“Because if you have to go through that stress to get money out of a man, it means that you need the man more than the man needs you.”

She argued that if women must rely on tactics and special guides to appeal to men, then men evidently hold strong influence in their lives:

“What have women not done? You people have done kayamata to attract a man. You people have used attraction oil.

“You people have done juju to marry a man. And at the end of the day, you come online to say men are not the prize.”

Her remarks also included a note of caution for those who may be considering adopting such strategies:

“Before you go and buy that e-book, make sure the man you are going to bill is not a Yahoo boy, because that format you want to use on that Yahoo boy, he’s using it on his client. He knows all these things.”

She concluded by questioning the logic behind investing in such materials; “I should go and buy a book to learn how to bill a man? Now wow.”
