Young people shouldn’t waste time on Alan’s party — Elvis Darko

Elvis Darko has cautioned young Ghanaians against investing their political hopes in Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change, arguing that its electoral showing suggests it has no viable future.
The veteran journalist pointed out that Kyerematen’s party’s dismal performance in the 2024 elections mirrors the fate of other breakaway movements formed during Ghana’s Fourth Republic.
“If you look at all the political parties that broke away from the NPP or NDC, none of them made any meaningful impact, from Dr.
“Paa Kwesi Nduom’s PPP to Akua Donkor’s GFP and even Nana Konadu’s party,” he explained in sn interview on Channel One TV monitored by MyNewsGh.
“They all faded away, and Alan’s party is following that same path.”
He added that Kyerematen’s personality-driven campaign failed to connect with voters despite years of being positioned as a national favorite.
“We were told his name alone could draw people from every political background, but that illusion was shattered by the results,” Darko remarked.
Citing statistics, he said, “Alan got 0.28 percent of the total votes, while all the smaller parties combined had less than two percent.
“That tells young people one thing, if you are looking for a political home, this is not where your future lies.”
