Your allawa is coming next month – Mahama assures nursing trainees

President John Dramani Mahama has assured nursing trainees across the country that their long-awaited allowances — popularly known as ‘allawa’ — will begin hitting their accounts next month.
Addressing a durbar of chiefs at Nalerigu during his Thank You Tour of the North East Region, Mahama said all necessary processes for the disbursement have been finalized.
“I can assure you, your ‘allawa’ is being worked on and by next month, you’ll start receiving payment,” he stated, drawing cheers from the crowd.
Mahama emphasized that his government remains committed to restoring consistency and dignity to the nursing profession, beginning with timely financial support for trainees.
The announcement brings renewed hope to many nursing students who have been waiting anxiously for months, with July now marked as the expected month of payment.
