Your work matters—Vice President Jane Naana honours labour force on May Day

Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has extended warm wishes to Ghanaian workers in a powerful May Day message shared on her official Facebook page.

Despite recently being flown abroad for medical attention following reports of a brief illness, the vice president took time to recognise the tireless efforts of the nation’s workforce, from farmers and traders to public servants and professionals in various fields.

“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the hardworking men and women across our country whose dedication keeps our nation moving forward,” she began.

“From our farmers and traders to teachers, healthcare professionals, artisans, public servants and others — your contributions shape the foundation of our national development.”

She went on to commend the perseverance and sacrifices of Ghana’s labour force, stating:

“On behalf of Government, I salute your perseverance, your service, and your vision for a better Ghana. Together, let us continue to advance the cause of labour, uphold the rights of workers, and strive for progress that leaves no one behind.”

The Vice President concluded her message with a note of unity and encouragement:
“Happy May Day to all Ghanaian workers. Your work matters. Your voice matters. And our future matters.”
