Youth admire Kennedy Agyapong’s bold personality — Braimah

The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Sulemana Braimah, says Kennedy Ohene Agyapong’s reputation as a no-nonsense, straight-talking politician could resonate with a significant section of the Ghanaian electorate, particularly the youth, as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up for its presidential primaries in January 2026.

Mr. Braimah highlighted that Kennedy Agyapong’s bold and outspoken personality sets him apart in the current political climate.

“I think he’s also seen as a no-nonsense person, a straight talker, he speaks his mind, and we’re at a point in this country where, especially among the youth, they feel we need discipline in society, we need somebody who can bulldoze his way through,” Mr. Braimah observed on Joy FM’s Newsfile on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

He further addressed perceptions about Kennedy Agyapong’s wealth, noting that while questions have been raised about how he made his money, there is no widespread belief that he is corrupt.

“People talk about where he made his money, but I don’t think anyone has said Ken is corrupt; he did this or he did that.

“There are question marks about how he made his money and all that, but he doesn’t have that baggage,” he clarified.

According to Mr. Braimah, Kennedy Agyapong also enjoys strong name recognition — an asset that could play a decisive role in the primaries.

“One positive thing for Kennedy Agyapong is that he has the name recognition. Any politically active person would have heard about him,” he added.
