Zanetor deserves bigger role in NDC — Gushegu MP

Alhassan Tampuli Sulemana has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Ghanaian political establishment to give greater recognition to Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings for her contributions and sacrifices.
The Member of Parliament for Gushegu said Dr. Zanetor, the eldest daughter of the late Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings and former President Jerry John Rawlings, embodies the legacy and sacrifice that built the NDC.
“She’s more than deserving,” he said on Saturday, October 25, 2025, as monitored by MyNewsGh.
“When almost all these new people who have joined the NDC have appointments, we must ask, who were the people who faced the rough side of the revolution?
When her father was in custody and likely to be executed, assuming he had been executed, would she even have a father?”
Mr. Tampuli stressed that the Agyeman-Rawlings family paid a heavy price during the revolutionary years that eventually birthed the NDC.
“The family sacrificed for the NDC to be birthed, from the PNDC to the NDC. So, I don’t think there’s anybody more qualified than Dr. Zanetor when it comes to appointments,” he noted.
He praised Dr. Zanetor’s credentials, saying she has all it takes to serve in a higher capacity within government.
“She’s eminently qualified in terms of education, experience, and age, and she’s already a Member of Parliament.
That’s the foundational qualification to be a minister of state,” he emphasised.
