The Ghana Police Service will today May 20, 2025 arraign some suspects for illegal mining activities at Wassa Gyapa in the Western Region.
The suspects were apprehended after a Police raid on May 19, 2025.
The suspects to be arraigned include Nana Ampadu, Stephen Tetteh, Yaw Dalame, Samuel Amoah, Kwame Oppong, Francis Oduom, Owusu Asare, Atta Kwame, Apiyanga Emmanuel, Kojo Montanakito, Maxwell Owusu, Obofo Vincent, and Soogal Fataw.
The raid by the Western Central Regional Police Command, as part of sustained anti-galamsey operations in the region on 19th May 2025, led to the successful disabling of over one hundred and twenty (120) changfang machines.
The Police, during the raid, also retrieved Six (6) motorbikes
