Implement our Conditions of Service not later than July 2025 or we’ll advise ourself

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association has given the government not later than July 2025 to implement its condition of service.

It will be remembered that the Registered Nurses and Midwives Association suspended their strike after their meeting with the Parliamentary select committee on health.

They were expected to meet the committee on June 26, 2025 to further their discussion on the way forward.

However, a letter dated June 25 from the committee rescheduled the meeting indicating that some of the stakeholders were out of the jurisdiction.

They rescheduled the meeting to July 10; a move which does not sit well with the Registered Nurses and midwives association.

At a press conference on June 26, 2025, the Association indicated that the deadline given is non-negotiable after the Parliamentary select committee on health failed to meet them as scheduled.

The association says they will advise themselves if there is any further delay of the implementation of their conditions of service.

”The strike was suspended in good faith and we expect nothing less than a reciprocity of same. The rescheduling of the meeting is in bad faith since it may further delay the implementation of the agreed items. We have, however, decided to give the committee the benefit of hindsight and still trust their engagement with the ministry of finance and health will be productive.

Adding that “ we demand the implementation of their conditions four agreed items not later than July 2025. This is non-negotiable”.
