A sad incident has been confirmed in a small farming community of Dwenim in the Jaman South Municipality of the Bono Region, where a woman identified as Maame Emelia, believed to be in her 50s, has been murdered by her son.
According to reports, the suspect, who is currently on the run, allegedly killed his mother following a heated argument over 4kg of cashew nuts, valued at approximately GH¢80.
Following the incident, many are struggling to come to terms with how a mere disagreement over cashew nuts could lead to such a tragic outcome.
Meanwhile, local authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspect. The police are urging the public to provide any information that could lead to his arrest.
