NPP’s Decision to have an early primary was very wise—Collins Adomako Mensah

Member of Parliament Collins Adomako Mensah has hailed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for deciding to have early primaries.
He says the messages he has been seeing via social media and other platforms are a clear indication that the National Council of the political party took a very strategic decision for the political party.
To him, this hurdle must be passed by to allow for the tension and disunity in the political party to end.
Making this point known in a Facebook post, he said, “The more I listen to some of the campaign messages, the more I am convinced that the decision to have our presidential primaries early in January was the best decision taken by national council!!!! We just need to clear this hurdle as quickly as possible and focus on the real issues.”
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will go to the polls on January 31, 2026, to elect a flagbearer for the political party.
The decision for an early primary, according to the party’s leadership, is to water down the tension that exists as a result of the contest.
